SGCS recognizes the need for all students to receive an education that stresses the fundamental tools of learning and that maximizes individual potential. They were recognized as the Spotlight on Success representatives from Churubusco Jr-Sr High School who were honored at the Board of School Trustees meeting on April 15, 2013. Amanda Martin and Chandler Brown were unable to attend.

About Us

The Smith-Green Community School Corporation, located in Churubusco, Indiana, serves students from Smith and Green Townships (71 square miles) in Whitley and Noble counties respectively. Housed in a single PK-12 facility are Churubusco Elementary School and Churubusco Jr-Sr High School. Although both schools are located in one facility, they represent separate and distinct environments with their own administrative, instructional, and support staff. The Smith-Green Community School Corporation serves approximately 1250 students in a comprehensive instructional program.

The mission of Smith-Green Community Schools is to provide a superior education that ensures success for every student through excellence in teaching and learning.

A superior education is the fundamental right of every student. All students will receive the respect, support, and opportunities they need to build the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be successful, contributing members of a global society.
